1. Balthasar approaches Romeo with shocking new. With his worried heart, he asked about Juliet's status. Sadly, his friend told him his love was waiting for him in the after life. Immediately, he chose to end his life. Life without Juliet was worse than not posessing a life at all. Having no regret at all, he approached the apothecary to purchase a venom - one which was deadly enough to end life at the second it touches the mouth of a victim.
2. By the Franciscans, this was not just a trivial letter but one full of news of great importance.

Since the letter did not reach Romeo in time, the friar's whole plan was ruined. Because it wasn't delivered in time, Romeo did not know that Juliet would awake. Surely, if Romeo saw Juliet dead, he would take his own life to be with Juliet in the afterlife. Without this line, Friar John would have never found out what abilities the letter had and what effects would affect their lives if it wasn't delivered. Romeo and Juliet's lives depend on it.
3. Did Friar Lawrence really try to bring the star-crossed lovers? Why did he come up with such a complex plan? Was it to get rid of them both so that he wouldn't have to waste more of his time trying to get the 2 together? What was going on in his mind? How did he make the potion? Did he plan it all out before Juliet came to see him?
